Why I tried CranioSacral Therapy and how it helped
Structural Integration has been such a helpful modality for me personally, why would I try something different? Well, the reality is that not every condition responds to any given technique. Sometimes, a variety of approaches is needed to resolve problems.
Years ago, I had a pain on one side of my sacroiliac joint. This is the joint between the base of the spine and pelvis. It hurt to walk or lie on my side. Chiropractic care helped resolve it. Unfortunately, the pain eventually came back. My chiropractor checked me and said that I did not need to be adjusted. He suggested trying CranioSacral therapy.
A friend had recently started a CranioSacral therapy practice. I went to see her and was delighted to find it resolved the pain. I felt it was really good work. I eventually decided to receive the training myself. When I receive CranioSacral therapy I find that it often provides me with a deep sense of calm and relaxation. In addition, it helps release stubborn restrictions such as tightness in one wrist.
I find CranioSacral therapy is a useful complement to Structural Integration. I provide sessions of just CranioSacral therapy. I also use it occasionally to enhance sessions of Structural Integration.
If you haven’t tried it, you might want to know that CranioSacral therapy uses a light touch and long holds to help the body make adjustments and changes. Sometimes, we can use CranioSacral therapy methods to take joints through their range of motion and release restrictions. The client is fully clothed for CranioSacral therapy sessions.
While CranioSacral therapy is perhaps best known for treating conditions like headaches and jaw pain, I have had good luck working with clients to reduce joint pain and during pregnancy, too. I definitely recommend trying a session. Visit my website barbaraconti.com to book now.
