Thoughts on Deferred [Body] Maintenance

Many people's lives are very full and busy. One side effect of this is they put off doing things that are necessary. In the realm of bodywork, people don't book appointments when their body needs it. The delay allows their pain and stiffness to escalate.

It's better to deal with stiffness and pain flare-ups when they are smaller and more manageable. There are several benefits to dealing with physical issues earlier. One is you feel better sooner! Another is that it generally takes fewer spot work sessions to resolve the problems.

If you have long-standing pain or stiffness, one session probably will not resolve the issue. I suggest people plan on at least three sessions. If it only takes one or two sessions, then you don't have to continue. Sometimes, it may take longer to get the results you want.

I recommend that people consider a maintenance program to prevent the problem from getting severe again. For some clients, that's as frequent as sessions every four to six weeks. Other people are fine coming in every 3 or 6 months. We can work together to find the right program for you.
