Relief for Tech neck

Do you spend a lot of time driving, using a computer, tablet or smartphone? If so, you may be familiar with a syndrome called tech neck or forward head posture. Reaching your head forward or bending your neck forward deeply can place a lot of strain on your muscles and joints.

Structural integration can help relieve the strain in your neck, back and chest. Spot work sessions can address discomfort. Working in the 10-session series helps align the major segments of your body and reduce associated strains from forward head posture.

To minimize your risk of developing forward head posture, there are several simple things you can do.

  • Pay attention to your posture. Sit, drive, and stand in alignment.

  • Lift your phone up so you can see the screen by moving your eyes rather than moving your head.

  • Pay attention to ergonomics when using a tablet or computer. Take a break from the screen every 20-30 minutes – stand up, look away from the screen, stretch your arms.

“For every inch of Forward Head Posture, it can increase the weight of the head on the spine by an additional 10 pounds.” Kapandji, Physiology of Joints, Vol. 3
