Help for tech neck
Do you spend a lot of time driving or using a computer, tablet or smartphone? If so, you may be familiar with a syndrome called tech neck or forward head posture. Reaching your head forward or bending your neck forward deeply can place a lot of strain on your muscles and joints.
Structural integration can help relieve the strain in your neck, back and chest. Over the 10 session, it will help align the major segments of your body and reduce forward head posture.
To minimize your risk of developing forward head posture, there are several simple things you can do.
Pay attention to your posture. Sit, drive and stand in alignment.
Lift your phone up so you can see the screen by moving your eyes rather than moving your head.
Take a break from the computer every 20-30 minutes – stand up, look away from the screen, stretch your arms.
“For every inch of Forward Head Posture, it can increase the weight of the head on the spine by an additional 10 pounds.” Kapandji, Physiology of Joints, Vol. 3
